The Economic and Legal Committee has been operating since the foundation of the Association. It is accountable for forming a position about economic and legal issues of baths operations.

The meetings of the committee are open, so usually there are a lot of colleagues present at these meetings, who are not members of the committee, but they are interested in the topics discussed because of their work.

One of the most important responsibilities of the Economic and Legal Committee is to represent and lobby for the Spa Section of the Association at the allowance-negotiations with the National Health Insurance Fund. The professional documents that form the basis of these negotiations were created - in the previous years officially, this year unofficially - under the leadership of the committee, and the spas formed their position with the help of the committee. The committee constantly gives feedback to the NHIF at diverse professional forums.

The committee is also accountable for legal consultancy based on professional experiences to the members of the baths associations, especially in the fields of taxes and accountancy, with which they can help the work of the professionals working in baths. The issues belonging to this area are constantly discussed at the committee's meetings, but there is personal, individual contact, as well.

The committee also deals with the economic effects of legal regulations, which belong to other fields, and to the work of other committees. For example we have dealt with the economic consequence of supplying swimming pools with water-circulation systems, or technical and medical issues, and also with the curative-factors acknowledged by NHIF.

Beside the points above, it is also one of our goals to establish a unified system for terminology, and an individual database.
The establishment and application of a unified terminology is necessary, because it is crucial to speak the same language in order to be efficient when lobbying in the different issues concerning baths, or at negotiations with partners.
Having an individual database is also necessary for being efficient when lobbying, since it is essential to have a reliable source of data, with which we can support our ideas prior to and at the negotiations.
